Microlaser Peel in Calgary & Chestermere, AB

Gently revitalizes the entire skin surface to restore a more youthful appearance.

A MicroLaser Peel removes a very thin layer of skin to improve fine lines, pigmentation, tone, and texture. As the skin heals, fresh cells grow and resurface the treated area. The result is healthier-looking skin, often with reduced wrinkles and improved colour evenness. It provides superior results because it can be administered with great precision of depth. A MicroLaser Peel can be performed as a single treatment or a series of treatments.

Is a MicroLaser Peel Right for Me?

This laser is one of the foremost precision lasers available today. Each level provides a different end result, adjustable to fit the lifestyle needs and end desires of the patient.

What Skin Conditions Can a MicroLaser Peel Treat?

The laser is best-suited for those skin conditions which are superficial in nature, such as;

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Scars
  • Keratoses (pre-cancers)
  • Sun damage
  • Pigment irregularities

Typically, the procedure is repeated 2-4 times, spaced 6-8 weeks apart, but many peels may be done to achieve the desired result. One procedure could be sufficient for at least 6 to12 months, but additional procedures can be performed as required. This will all be discussed during your consultation.

Any area of your body can be treated. The most common areas are those most exposed to the damaging effects of sunlight. The most popular treatments are for the face, neck, back of the hands, chest, and shoulders.

How a MicroLaser Peel is Performed

The MicroLaser Peel involves a topical numbing cream and involves minimal discomfort. At its most shallow settings, most people can tolerate treatment with no anesthetic at all. Your skin will be cleaned in the treatment area and your eyes will be protected with safety shields. Our Registered Nurse/ Laser Technician will position the laser over the skin while a computer-guided scanner moves the laser over the designated treatment area.  The treatment strips away light and mild wrinkles easily and quickly. The depth of the treatment is customizable up to 50um depending on the severity of the wrinkle.

MicroLaser Peel Recovery Expectations

Immediately following treatment you will notice that the skin has a "frosty" appearance. This is the dehydrated skin that will peel away within the next few days. You may experience redness and a sensation resembling a sunburn. Swelling may also occur in the treated areas.

Downtime can be tailored with the aggressiveness of the treatment, anywhere from 3-5 days. Depending on the depth of the treatment, patients can typically wear makeup within 2–4 days of the treatment. Your skin will be sensitive to to ultra-violet light and you must avoid direct sun exposure until fully healed. It is recommended that you always use some level of solar protection to avoid sun damage and premature aging of your skin.
